Abstract

1466795 Axial flow fans; cooling I C engines INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO 5 April 1974 [5 April 1973] 15151/74 Headings FIB and F1C A cooling fan and cowl assembly for an I.C. engine comprises a fan 28, Fig. 2, surrounded by a cowl 38 having a cylindrical portion 40 and a flared portion 42. The cowl dimensions are such that in use with the assembly arranged downstream of the radiator 34 of a tractor, Figs. 1 and 4 (not shown), the heated air discharged by the fan is directed by the cowl generally radially of the fan axis and out of the engine compartment without impinging on the engine. The flared portion may be arranged to direct the air-flow by the Gamda effect.
