Abstract

1529946 Fan intake silencer FANS & BLOWERS Ltd 3 March 1976 [13 March 1975] 10612/75 Heading F1B A centrifugal fan has an intake silencer comprising a channel or tubular member 22, preferably open at both ends 30, and having at least one wall of a passage defined by the channel or tubular passage covered with sound absorbing material 36 e.g. polyurethane foam. The channel or tubular member 22 covers an intake port 20 of the fan. The member sidewalls may also be covered with sound absorbing material as may be the fan housing wall 14 defining the intake port 20. To prevent ingress of dirt a wire mesh 34 may cover each inlet 30.
