Abstract

The silencer for a fan with axial input and radial output lessens sound made by the rotor across the intake. It is in the form of a pipe which gives the intake flow a spiral trajectory in a perpendicular plan. The current is directed after being turned spirally. The pipe section, perpendicular to flow, is an exponential function, decreasing with distance from the silencer entry. The pipe is made of flat pieces fitted to give a nearly exponential change. The fan input is inclined relative to the perpendicular plan to the shaft.
