PURPOSE:To enable to identify multiplex broadcast surely without malfunction even at vacant channel and weak electric field, by adding some circuit elements to a phase locked loop circuit for sub-signal FM demodulation. CONSTITUTION:A voltage controlled oscillator VCO23 oscillated 2 f0 frequency based on the sub-signal obtained through a phase comparator 20 and an LPF22 for the input carrier (where; f0 is free operation frequency of a phase locked loop). The output of the oscillator 23 is in phase comparison 20 with the input carrier via a 1/2 frequency divider 24, and the output is a control voltage of the oscillator VCO23 via an LPF20 and used for an FM detection output of the sub-signal. One output of the oscillator VCO is inputted to a phase comparator 21 via a 1/2 frequency divider 26 from a phase inversion circuit 25, and after it is in phase comparison 20 with the input carrier, it is converted into a DC voltage at a time constant circuit. On the other hand, a pilot signal is inputted to a PLL circuit 28 and transmitted to a switch circuit 29 together with the output of a time constant circuit 27.
