Abstract
PURPOSE:To accomplish stable operations by forecasting the generation of breakout when the fluctuation range of the temps. in the prescribed position in a mold attains a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:Thermometers 4 are provided in a mold 2 within 20mm. from the inlet of the mold 2 and within 15mm. from the mold surface to measure temps. continuously. The temp. fluctuation range during drawing is <=3 deg.CDELTAT1 and it is forecast that the probability of the generation of breakout is high in the case of >=50 deg.C temp. drop range DELTAT2 of the current temps. with respect to the reference temp. during normal drawing, then the drawing is stopped. In this way, the stable operations are accomplished.
