CONSTITUTION:The mold cooling water and the secondary cooling water are each multi-divided into >=3 at the peripheral direction. Thermocouples for measuring temp. of copper plate are arranged to each mold copper plate multi- divided. By comparing the mean value of these measured temp. value, in case the measured value is higher than the mean value, the cooling water quantity at the higher position of the measured temp. value is reduced. In case it is lower than the mean value, the mold cooling water quantity and the secondary cooling water quantity are controlled So as to increase the cooling water at the lower position of the measured temp. value.
