Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively perform the treatment of sludge in site by a method in which sludge containing high concentrations of organics is dredged, separated into sediment sludge and separaed water, and the sludge present in the separated water is treated with the sediment sludge with the aid of a solidifying agent.
CONSTITUTION: Eutrophic sludge containing high concentrations of organics is dredged and then naturally sedimented in the tank of a barge to separate it into sediment sludge and separated water. The separated water is sent to the water treatment apparatus 2 of a sludge treatment barge, where it is separated into sludge and treated water by a coagulating sedimentation method and the treated water is discharged. The remaining sludge is sent with the said sediment sludge to the solidifying apparatus 3 of the barge, where the mixed sludge is mixed with cement as a solidifying agent from a cement hold 5 to become high-viscous mixed sludge. The mixed sludge is grouted into the nearby sea bed through a grouter 4. Thus, organics-rich sludge can be treated by making it harmless without floating it in the sea water and also without the need for dumping site.
