Abstract

PURPOSE: To gasify methane, straight-chain hydrocarbons, and higher carbon- containing compounds without requiring cooling and purification, by bringing a high-temperature coal type crude gas into contact with a specific sintered catalyst in the presence of a gasifying agent at high temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A coal type crude gas containing 6W30vol% methane at a pressure of 0W100kg/cm2G at 300W900°C is brought into contact with a sintered catalyst (10W60wt% CaO and 40W90wt% Al2O3) in the presence of a gasifying agent at high temperature of 800W1,300°C, to give a gas rich in hydrogen.
EFFECT: Gasification can be carried out in high heat efficiency by a simple process without causing catalyst poison.
