Abstract

PURPOSE: To collect dust always in good condition without stopping the operation of gasification and to take a sensible heat from the producer gas no more than is needed, by collecting dust contained in the gas produced by a partial oxidation of carbon-containing material after cooling the gas by water spray.
CONSTITUTION: Carbon-containing materials are partially burned in a gas producer 1, and remained materials are gasified to produce combustible gas containing CO and H2 as the main components by utilizing a heat source generated in said combustion. This gas is quenched in a spary chamber 13 with water spray at the lower part of the producer 1. It is enough for the water-sprayed gas to be cooled to temperature lower than the softening temp of ash, therefore the sensible heat of the gas is considered not to be wasted by excess cooling. The dust contained in the gas is collected by a dust collector 19 successively.
