Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce metallic powder economically with high efficiency by ejecting molten metal in a horizontal direction from a rotary injection nozzle which is opened with plural injection ports on the outside circumferential surface, and forcing said metal to smash into the perpendicular wall bodies covered with water film flow. CONSTITUTION:The outflow port 7A of a molten metal tank 7 is opened to allow molten metal to fall into a rotary injection nozzle 6 through the inside of an oxidation-preventing inert gas pipe 8, so that the molten metal is scattered through the respective injection ports 9 of the nozzle 6 under high speed revolution. The molten metal scattered from the ports 9 collides vigorously against the inside surfaces of the perpendicular wall bodies 13A (or any of 13B-13D) in a tank 5. At this time, water film flow 15 exists along the inside surface of the bodies 13A and threrefore the molten metal jets are pulverized by the vigorous collision and are simultaneously cooled. These are stored as a slurry in a storage tank 5A. The slurry is removed successively with a slurry pump 18, and is removed of liquid components with a centrifugal separator 19, whereby it is made into metallic powder 20. This powder is dried with an automatic dryer 21, and is made into a product 24 after classifying 22 and mixing 23.
