Abstract

PURPOSE: To take out liquid fine particles of uniform grain sizes with good efficiency by disposing a cylindrical body in the upper part of a liquid vessel, and generating swirling flow in this cylindrical body.
CONSTITUTION: When ultrasonic waves are generated in liquid 1 by an ultrasonic oscillator 3, a liquid column is produced. At this time, multiple mistlike liquid fine particles fly out from the neighborhood of the bottom part of the liquid column 11. In addition, breakdown takes place in the upper part of the liquid column 11 and large liquid droplets scatter to the surroundings. Now, when air is fed in by means of a fan 9, swirling flow is formed in a swirling chamber 5 by guide vanes 8 and the mistlike liquid fine particles and large liquid drops are taken into this swirling flow. The higher the diametral speed of the liquid droplets, the higher the separating speed, thus they are effectively separated. Therefore, the liquid fine particle groups taken out from a discharge port 10 are of uniform sizes of particles.
