Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable mass transportation and storage of coal, using practically no heavy oil, by separating coal into dense and thin slurries through the process of a cyclone installed at a terminal of a mixed slurry (coal powder and water) transportation line.
CONSTITUTION: Coal is cast from a hopper 1, crashed by a mill 2, and transported into a slurry tank 3, where the crashed coal is mixed with water supplied from a water supply line, and is formed into a slurry state. The mixed slurry is then fed into a cyclone 8 through a discharge line 5, and separated inside the cyclone 8. The dense slurry enters a storage tank 10 through a line 9. The liquid is discharged from a discharge line 11. When the thin slurry separated by the cyclone 8 is reused, the thin slurry returned from a return line 13 is mixed again inside the slurry tank 3, and then the mixed slurry is sent back to the cyclone 8 by a transportation pump 6.
