Abstract
PURPOSE: To separate coal in a slurry state efficiently from water, by granulating pulverized coal in coal unloaded in a slurry state by a specific method.
CONSTITUTION: Coal in a ship 2 is hydraulically transported in a slurry state to be unloaded temporarily into a pond 19. Subsequently, coal 20 in the pond 19 is sent in a slurry state to a dehydrator 25 and most of the coarse particle coal 24 is sent to a coal yard 29 by a conveyor 28. A part of the coarse particle coal 24 is, after grinded on a grinder 30, thrown into a dry granulating machine 38 to be granulated with a binder and then sent into an agitating tank 42. On the other hand, a pulverized coal slurry obtained under the net of the dehydrator 25 is sent into the agitating tank 42 to be mixed with the above-mentioned granulated coal, and then the mixture is sent with a binder into an underwater granulating machine 51 to have the pulverized coal granulated around the core of the above-mentioned granulated coal. The granulated coal 55 thus obtained is separated from water on a dehydrator 56 and then transfered to the coal yard 29.
