Abstract
PURPOSE: To transport efficiently slurry of pulverized coal, by a method wherein an oil binder is mixed with the slurry contg. pulverized coal, the resulting oil-contg. pulverized coal-granulated products are classified and then dispersed in water while controlling the amount of the granulated products to be blended.
CONSTITUTION: Pulverized coal is dispersed in water in each of pulverized coal-contg. slurry-mixing tanks 11, 21, 31 to form slurry contg. pulverized coal in each tank. Fuel oil is introduced through each of binder reservoirs 12, 22, 32 into each slurry. The mixture is stirred in granulators 13, 23, 33 to granulate oil-contg. pellets of pulverized coal. Then the granulated pellets are classified. Various conditions such as running time, the concn. of the slurry, the concn. of the binder, the mesh size of vibrating sieve, etc. are varied in classifiers 1, 2, 3 to obtain oil-contg. pulverized coal-granulated products of pellet phases of 12 stages in total. Then water from a water tank 4 is introduced into a mixer 5 for preparing slurry. The oil-contg. pulverized coal-granulated products having 12 classes of different particle diameters in a predetermined proportion from each of reservoirs 16, 26, 36 are introduced into the tank 5 and blended, with water to obtain slurry of the oil-contg. pulverized coal-granulated products having a wide particle size distribution ranging from several mm to μ-order in particle diameter suitable for long-distance transportation.
