Abstract

PURPOSE: After crushed coal is pelletized by a specific method, they are further made to stick to one another and coagulate, whereby a slurry with high dehydration properties as well as high stability in the hydraulic transportation is produced.
CONSTITUTION: After coal 1 is crushed with the crusher 2 and kneaded together with a small amount of a binder 5 such as heavy oil with a kneader 23, they are pelletized with a dry-type pelletizer 8 to give coal pellets of fine particle sizes. The coal pellets are combined with water 4, a binder 5' and a foaming agent 28 and granulated with a wet-type granulator 10 by sticking fine particles around the nuclei of bubbles to form coagulated particles. Then, the particles are coated with the binder 5' to give the objective pellets 30. The resultant pellets are mixed with water in the tank 11 so that they are made into a slurry suitable for hydraulic transportation and transported with the pump 13.
EFFECT: The amount of the binder used is reduced and there is no trouble of wearing the inner wall of the pipe line.
