Abstract
PURPOSE:In the manufacturing method of a sintered anode plate employing the nickel hydroxide as an active substance, to simplify the manufacture of the different kind of anode plates while to reduce the manufacturing cost by making different only the condition of the impregnating operation at the final stage while making common other impregnating operation. CONSTITUTION:A sintered nickel substrate having the porosity of approximately 80% is immersed for 10min in the 4mol. of nickel nitrate water solution containing 3wt% of cobalt nitrate (Immersion A) then after drying under 80 deg.C the alkali processing, water washing and the drying are performed and after repeating said immersing operation several times(3-4 times) the anode plate for normal temperature is fianlly immersed in said immersion A. While the anode plate for high temperature is finally immersed in approximately 4mol. water solution where nickel, cobalt and cadmium nitrate are mixed with the weight ratio of 30:20:50(Immersion B) then applied with the normal formation to complete the plate. The temperature characteristic of a nickel-cadmium cell where said anode plates are combined with a common cathode plate is shown on the drawing where 1 is for the normal temperature anode plate while 2 is for the high temperatre anode plate.
