Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce a cell capable of the high rate discharge where the diffusion of the discharge product of the lithium is facilitated while causes no fluid resistance and no shortcircuit, by employing a separator where the nonwoven fabric and the monofilament are integrated through the thermal fusion then applying the nonwoven side of said separator to the positive plate side. CONSTITUTION:In the drawing 5 is an nonwoven fabric composed of the polypropylene fiber and the rayon fiber having the thickness of 0.1mm.. Said nonwoven fabric 5 and the monofilament 4 is thermally fused by the heat seal and integrated. Consequently there is no bad influence of the adhesives while since the nonwoven fabric is applied at the positive plate and the monofilament is applied at the negative lithium side, the liquid at the negative lithium side has high fluidity and the discharge product is diffused easily from the plate to enable the high rate discharge. While since a nonwoven fabric is placed between the positive and negative plates, the consumption of lithium is different from place to place thereby the shortcircuit will never occur between the positive and negative plates even the surface of the lithium is coarse.
