Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation and adhesion of acid ammonium sulfate in and to machines and instruments arranged on the downstream side of a desulfurization device by a method wherein an exhaust combustion gas is supplied to a burner so as to perform a low O2 and low temperature combustion operation. CONSTITUTION:Fuel is burned with the primary air supply A1 from an inner cylinder 20 having the burner 17 at the center thereof to thereby produce flame F. Next, an intermediate cylinder 21 is formed about the outer periphery of the inner cylinder 20 and exhaust combustion gas G is injected from the annular clearance formed between the cylinders 20 and 21 so that the gas G surrounds the flame F. Further, secondary air A2 and tertiary air A3 are also supplied from the annular clearance between the cylinders 20 and 21 and from the outermost periphery of the device, respectively, but these airs A2 and A3 are isolated from the flame by the exhaust combustion gas G. Consequently, the amount of generation of SO3 is reduced to a great degree and the blockade and corrosion of the devices arranged on the downstream side of the desulfurization device are prevented.
