Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform a constantly stable lean combustion, by a method wherein a mixture of fuel and air is conducted in a multistage, and reformed gas originating in rich mixture gas is burned as it is diluted in order.
CONSTITUTION: A middle part of a combustion cylinder is throttled to form a throttle part 11, and a mixture chamber 12 and a combustion chamber 13 are formed at an uperstream and a downstream side, respectively. A torch ignitor 14 is mounted in the mixture chamber 12 to which a plural number of fuel-reforming pipes 18, where rich mixture gas is revised into reformed gas, are connected, and an air hole 23, which feeds air to perform a lean combustion of the reformed gas, is formed on the downstream side of the throttle part 11 of said combustion chamber 13. The fuel-reforming pipes 18 are opened for connection from a tangential direction or a radial direction and at equal intervals around the mixture chamber 12.
