Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid ERRONEOUS movement due to the variation in the ambient temperature and mixing-in of mechanical vibration and noises by providing a combination in which a pair of pyro-electric type infrared light detection elements are connected in series so as to make their directions of polarization opposite and alternately making and breaking infrared light that falls upon those detection elements. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted with pyro-electric elements 61 and 62, super- high resistance 63, FET64, output resistance 65, and the pyro-electric elements 61 and 62 are connected in series with their direction of polarization reversed. Both elements 61 and 62 are senstive to infrared light. In other words, the pyro-electric materials 81 and 82 are mutually polarized in the same direction, and infrared absorption electrodes 84 and 86 are respectively vacuum-evaporated on the surface on which positive induction charge is produced. Electrodes that oppose the electrodes 84 and 86 are provided with infrared light reflecting electrodes 83 and 85. When infrared incident light is irradiated to both elements at the same time, the outputs signals of those elements have mutually opposite signs, because of their opposite polarizations, nullifying each other's singal and delivering no signal from lead wires 87 and 89. However, if a chopper 80 is used to irradiate infrared light to both elements alternately, signal output is obtained.
