Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect abnormal form of the moving body by detecting the form by scanning the detector receiving the reflecting light from the moving body on the surface shaped light detector which is formed by arranging the light detecting elements in matrix condition. CONSTITUTION:The light form the light source 2 is reflected at the moving body 1 such as a bit, and the reflected light is projected on the surface light detector 6 through the lens 5. The surface light detector 6 is constituted by arranging the N light detecting elements 7 lengthwise and R crosswise in matrix condition. By scanning the detector in the direction shown by the arrow 8 corresponding to the movement of the moving body 1 from S1 to S2, photoelectric converting output obtained at each light detecting element 7 is integrated at each row A-N. The abnormality of the shape of the moving body 1 can be detected by comparing the integrated value with the standard value.
