Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve inspection accuracy of defects of a bottle mouthpiece by enlarging an S/N, by providing light sources at the right and left sides of a bottle mouthpiece to be inspected and making a reflected light on the mouthpiece surface incident to a one dimensional scanning camera through a polarizing filter. CONSTITUTION:A ray emitted from a light source 2a irradiates a bottle mouthpiece 3 through a diffusing plate 5a of a light source box 4a. A part of a ray 6a of the irradiated ray is reflected on the upper surface adjacent to the light source 2a of the mouthpiece 3 and enters a one-dimensional scanning camera 8 through a polarizing filter 7. While, other part of a ray 9a transmits a side wall of the mouthpiece and is reflected on the upper surface of the mouthpiece away from the light source 2a, but it is absorbed by the filter 7 and is not made incident to the camera 8. As in the same case, the reflected light from the mouthpiece by the irradiated light of a light source 2b is also made incident to the camera 8. A light emitting pattern of the mouthpiece 3 by the reflected ray is compared with a standard pattern and the quality of the bottle mouthpiece is inspected.
