Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the background density on the film surface without any mobile part, by setting a light diffusing filter between a film and an optical sensor and inspecting the density on the entire film surface by the output based on the diffused light. CONSTITUTION:A light diffusing filter (h) is set between a microfilm (c) and the photoelectric element (f) of an optical sensor. The light is irradiated through a side of the film (c), and the transmitted light is received by an element (f). Using this output, the background density is inspected on the surface of the film (c). The filter (h) which is set at a close range, e.g., with 2mm. gap opposite to the lower edge of the film (c) has nearly the same size of the film surface. The light irradiated from the upper part of the film diffuses all beams including the light that passed through the white blank area, i.e., the picture part of the film. Thus the output of the element (f) is not affected by a pattern at the film picture image part.
