Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a continuous displacement meter which in small is size and does not receive the influence of output change owing to the temp. and secular change of a luminous body by providing a control means which controls the quantity of the light emitted by the luminous body constant. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting element 1 and photodetectors 2A, 2B are placed to face each other and a light shielding plate 3 which converts the displacement of an object to be detected to the change in rotating angle via a revolving shaft 4 is disposed between these. The photodetector 2A is so disposed that the quantity of the light arriving at said photodetector is controlled by the displacement of the plate 3, and the position of the object to be detected is detected by the output of said photodetector 2A. On the other hand, the photodetector 2B is disposed in the position where the output thereof is not changed by the displacement of the plate 3 and the quantity of the light emitted by the element 1 is so controlled by the output thereof that it is kept constant at all times. Therefore, this displacement meter is small in size and is kept free from the influence of the change in the output owing to the temp. and secular change of the light emitting element.
