Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce humidity sensor capable of displaying hymidity and controlling the humdity conditioning system directly by using electric output thereof, by converting the change of color of a substance which discolors due to humidity in the air into an elelctric signal by means of a photocoupler. CONSTITUTION:A suspension of ultrafine alumina powder and copper slat is coated on an alumina ceramic substrate measuring about 4 X 4 mm, and dried to form a sensor element. In the sensor chamber shutting off external light, the light from the light source, which is a light emitting diode, is projected to said sensor element, and the reflected light is received by a silicon photo diode through a filter, and the humidity is displayed by using the output thereof. Also using this output, the humidity in air conditioning system can be controlled.
