Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture the titled sintered material without causing deterioration in magnetic characteristics and to reduce the wear of a metallic mold by using a powdered mixture of fine ferrosilicon powder, fine metallic Si powder or a powdered mixture thereof with iron powder.
CONSTITUTION: Si is supplied using ferrosilicon powder or metallic silicon powder ≥80% of which has ≥200 mesh grain size or a powdered mixture thereof. To said powdered Si source is added iron powder by an amount equal to or larger than the amount of the Si source, and this powdered mixture is granulated with a binder. The granules are put in a metallic mold and press-molded, and the molded body is sintered to manufacture a sintered metallic iron material contg. 0.5W5% Si.
