Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a part for adjusting and sealing the gap between substrates which is free from disturbance in the patterns of adhesive agents and the formation of air bubbles by keeping the thickness in coating the adhesive agent kneaded with finely divided powder serving as spacers at 1.1-2.5 times the diameters of the finely divided particles. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive agent kneaded with finely divided particles of diameters approximately equal to the spacing of a liquid crystal cell is coated on one of electrode substrates in such a way that the thickness thereof is kept at 1.5-2.5 times the diameters of the finely divided particles. Another electrode substrate is superposed thereon, and these are adhered by pressing, whereby a liquid crystal cell is formed. The finely divided particles are not limited to a spherical shape alone, and the same effect is obtained with not only glass fibers of uniform sizes but also any shapes as far as they maintain the spacing between the electrode substrates.
