Abstract

PURPOSE:To arrange spacer particles uniformly in a desired density to obtain a liquid crystal display device where the response speed is uniform and the display quality is high, by sealing peripheral parts of two substrates after spacer particles dispersed in gas are caused to drop naturally onto surfaces of substrates and are stuck to them. CONSTITUTION:A substrate 10 where an electrode of a prescribed form is formed by adhesion is put on the bottom part of a closed vessel 9 with the electrode face turned up, and gas is sprayed for several seconds through a nozzle 7 from a vessel 81 which is provided oppositely to an aperture part 91 provided on one side wall of the vessel 9 and stores spacer particles 8, and spacer particles 8 are sucked to gas and are suspended in gas and are charged into the vessel 9 and drop naturally onto all of the surface of the substrate 10 uniformly and are stuck there, and peripheral parts of two substrates 10 are sealed. Thus, since the interval between substrates is made uniform to a prescribed value, the variance of the response speed and the coloring phenomenon are prevented to obtain a high-quality display.
