Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance purifying efficiency of sewage by a method wherein plural plate like contact filter materials are arranged in parallel with the revolving stream of sewage in a contact aeration chamber and the upper end parts of the aforementioned filter materials are protruded above the sewage level.
CONSTITUTION: Plural plate like contact filter materials 3 are arranged in parallel with the revolving stream of sewage in a contact aeration chamber 1 and the upper end parts of the contact filter mateials 3 are protruded above the sewage level to form a sewage treating apparatus generating the revolving stream of sewage by the diffusing part 2 in the contact aeration chamber 1. By protruding the upper end parts of the contact filter materials 3, revolving stream is divided and rectified by the contact filter materials in the part of the sewage level 4 having a fastest flow speed and sufficient water supply shown by an arrow can be carried out between the contact filter materials 3 and, because sufficient oxygen is supplied, purifying efficiency can be increased.
