Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the processing efficiency and to perform a precise balance adjustment, by a method wherein an irradiation energy concentration of a pulse laser beam is variably controlled corresponding to a rotation speed of a rotary object, and simultaneously, the pulse width of the pulse laser beam is caused to vary. CONSTITUTION:A rotary object 1 is supported at a based stand (not shown) through bearings 11 and elastic membrers 12, and is, under said condition, turned in the direction of an arrow mark A by a variable motor 13. Meanwhile, a laser oscillator 2 enables a flash lamp 22 to radiate pulse by means of a laser source 21 to excite a YAG laser rod 23, and the unbalance psition part of the rotary object 1 is irradiated with so generated pulse laser beam 24 through a light collecting lens 25 to remove it for the processing. As the size of said unbalance position diminishes, a process control circuit 3 enables the rotary object 1 to turn at a high speed, increases an irradiation energy concentration, and simultaneously, regulates pulse width so that is can be shortened. This enables to perform an extremely efficient balance adjustment.
