Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a heat exchanger of superior corrosion resistance, by restraining evaporation of Zn from a core at the time of vacuum brazing by making fins of which both faces of the core made of an alloy of Al-Mn-Zn system are cladded with an alloy of Al-Sn.
CONSTITUTION: The brazing sheet cladded with the brazing filler metal of alloy of Al-Si system with a core of alloy of Al system is used as the material for tubes and a tank. A three layer compound of the core of alloy of Al-Mn-Zn system containing 0.2W2% of Mn and 0.1W3% of Zn, and the coating material of alloy of Al-Sn containing 0.02W0.2% of Sn cladded with both faces of the core are used for the material to make fins. By these affangement, evaporation of Zn in the core of fin material is restrained when the fin is vacuum brazed to the tubes and the tank, the material of core of the fin is secured electrochemically more base than the materials of pipes and tank.
