Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent missing of dots and to obtain a high density picture, by providing resistor elements having specified resistance values between needle shaped electrodes ad output terminals which give picture signal voltages corresponding to the picture data to said electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Picture switches 81 are connected to the needle shaped electrodes 5 through the resistor elements 9. The resistance values of the resistance elements 9 are made to be 1/10-10 times the average resistance value of an ink sheet 1 between each neelde shaped electrode 5 and a returning electrode 7. When the picture signal voltage is applied between the electrodes 5 and 7 by a picture signal voltage applying circuit 8, the part of the ink sheet 1 directly below the needle shaped electrodes 5 is melted by Joule heat and transferred to recording paper 2.
