Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a freeze of a throttle valve, by arranging a bottom internal wall of an intake manifold collector part lower than a bottom internal wall of a throttle chamber and preventing condensed water in the collector part from flowing into the throttle chamber. CONSTITUTION:An end wall 7b of a collector part 7 in an intake manifold 6 is connected to an almost horizontally arranged throttle chamber 4, and the collector part 7 is almost horizontally arranged. A bottom internal wall 7a of the collector part is positioned lower than a bottom internal wall 4a of the throttle chamber 4, and inlet bottom internal walls 8a of a branch part 8, from a side wall of the collector part to each cylinder, are placed in an equal level to the bottom internal wall 7a of the collector part 7, then these internal walls are continuously placed. In consequence, water, in exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) gas or blow-by gas residual in the intake manifold 6, even if frozen to dew and accumulated in the bottom part of the collector part 7, never flows into the throttle chamber 4.
