Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an engine stop in case of sharp braking operation, by installing a circuit which releases lock-up in an earlier stage, if the acceleration speed drops below a set value, than that in the case when the acceleration speed is larger than the set value, in the controlling circuit which performs switching of lock-up according to the car speed. CONSTITUTION:In case of sharp braking operation where a car is set into braked state from lock-up state and the acceleration signal V's becomes less than the set acceleration signal b1 which is entered into a comparator 42 the signal V's becomes less than the signal b1 before the car speed reaches the lock-up releasing car speed V. The signal V's which a differential circuit 41 outputs is compared with the signal b1 in the comparator 42, and if the signal V's is less than the signal b1, O-signal is output into an AND-circuit 43, and a signal b2 is entered as a substitute for the signal b1 into an input terminal 42b. Therefore, the AND-circuit 43 outputs O-signal, and a driving circuit 39 stops the conduction to a lock-up solenoid 31. Therefore, direct coupling of the pump impeller of a converter with turbine runners is released, and lock-up can be released.
