Abstract
PURPOSE: To form an electric power source part having improved power factor and stabilized operating ratio at a low cost, by constituting the electric power source part of an ozonizer by the silent discharge of a transistor inverter and a matching circuit.
CONSTITUTION: A streamer-like silent discharge is generated between electrodes in an ozonizing apparatus under a high AC voltage applied thereto, and oxygen gas is passed through the electrodes and ozonized. The electric power source of the ozonizer is constituted of a transistor inverter 12 of the pulse width control type and a matching circuit 13 having a reactor and a boosting transformer 2, and connected with a grounded ozonizer 3 in series. An AC input from a commercial power source is converted into a puolse voltage in the inverter 12 and boosted through a matching circuit 13 for improving the power factor consisting of a reactor essentially. The peak factor of the output wave form is increased, and the power factor is improved. The electric power efficiency is improved, and the power for generating the ozone can be reduced.
