Abstract
PURPOSE:To identify an abnormal discharge condition precisely by comparing in size the reference waveform generated at the timing when high voltage pulses are not applied and the reference voltages with the inter-pole voltage in a discharge machining machine. CONSTITUTION:The inter-pole voltage E0 is compared with the first reference voltage E1 by the first comparator 7, is compared with the second reference voltage E2 by the second comparator 8, with the third reference voltage E3 by the third comparator 9, and the reference wave C generated at the timing when high voltage pulses for the discharge machining are not applied is compared with fourth comparator 10 respectively. Individual comparison results of the comparators 7-10 are detected at the predetermined timing, and when the reference wave C is less than the inter-pole voltage E0 and the reference voltage E1 is less than the inter-pole voltage E0' a logical value 1 is output from an AND circuit 20 as an abnormal arc discharge condition detection signal, thereby an abnormal arc discharge condition can be detected.
