Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a wire electrode from being disconnected by detecting the average working voltage change in a specific frequency band and abnormal discharge and weakening the working condition at abnormal discharge. CONSTITUTION:The change of the average working voltage is detected by the abnormal discharge detection circuit 26 and the electrical condition of the working power source 14 is controlled by the thus-detected value. The abnormal discharge detection circuit 26 contains the frequency divider 28, low pass filter 30, comparator 32, and reference value setting circuit 34. After a relatively high inter-electrode voltage is reduced by a potential divider 28, only the average working voltage change in a specific frequency band is detected and this voltage change is compared with the reference value of the reference value setting circuit 34 with the comparator 32. When any abnormal discharge is detected by this, the working condition by the working power supply 14 is weakened and the disconnection of a wire electrode is prevented.
