Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect different voltage levels by providing a plurality of detecting resistors having different detecting levels in one voltage detecting circuit and by selecting the resistors in an electric manner. CONSTITUTION:The power from a primary battery 1 is fed through a diode 2 to a secondary battery 3 so that it may be charged. A voltage detecting circuit 5 monitors the voltage of the secondary battery 3 by plural detecting voltage levels. When the discharge of the secondary battery 3 reaches 30 % so that the voltage is decreased to about 1.70 V, a charge start warning circuit 7 is operated in response to the control singnals appearing in the output of the voltage detecting circuit 5 thereby to effect the warning operation. When, on the other hand, the secondary battery is charged to an excessive extent so that the voltage is raised to about 1.90 V, an overcharge preventing switch circuit 6 is rendered conductive in response to the control signals appearing in the output of the voltage detecting circuit 5 thereby to short-circuit the primary battery 1 and to prevent the overcharge of the secondary battery 3.
