Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the circuit composition by driving a GTO by means of three verieties of control signals (positive signal, negative signal, negative potential fixed signal) taken out of a control circuit on the basis of an applied input signal.
CONSTITUTION: When an input signal with an established time is applied between the rise and fall of a photocoupler 19, the photocoupler 19 becomes conductive, a positive pulse produces on the output side of an arithmetic amplifier 16 and a GTO ignites. At the same time a thyristor 5 for charge control ignites and negative charges are filled in a condenser 7. When the input signal falls after the course of the established time, the photocoupler 19 becomes non-conductive, a negative pulse produces on the output side of the arithmetic amplifier 16 and if this negative pulse charges a Zenner diode, a discharge control thyristor 4 is ignited and the arc of the GTO extinguished.
