Abstract
PURPOSE:To make an electric charging work of primary batteries unnecessary and prolong its life, by substituting secondary batteries for the primary batteries when a discharge of large current is required and combining the pirmary and secondary batteries in such a manner that the secondary batteries are charged by a small current of the primary batteries. CONSTITUTION:Two secondary batteries 5 connected in series to each other and two primary batteries 4 joined in series to each other are connected in parallel and a load 6 is connected to both terminals of the thus-formed parallel circuit. The load 6 is variable in resistance by a switch 7 when this switch is used, for example, as a printer-driving switch in a desk-top electronic calculator equipped with a printer, the impedance of the load 6 when switch 7 is in its ON position differs from that when in its OFF position, resulting in a difference in the magnitudes of currents allowed to pass in both cases. The primary batteries 4 of a high voltage are adapted primarily to supply current to a load which requires a small driving current while the secondary betteries 5 is mainly adapted to supply current to a load requiring a large driving current.
