When the output of the detector 6 drops below a certain level, a control part 5 outputs a signal to a driving part 8 to lower the spindle 7, thereby starting measurement. When a load transducing part 1 measures weight and a transducing arithmetic part 3 calculates the weight of the body to be measured, the measurement result is outputted to a display part 4 and an end signal is also outputted, thereby outputting an elevation signal for the spindle 7 from the control part 5 to the driving part 8.
