Abstract
PURPOSE:To decrease the produced amount of slag greatly by discharging the greater portion of produced slag after desilicating molten iron and then performing a dephosphorizing and a desulfurizing treatment by using a CaO treating agent, and performing decarbonization by adding a small amount of a slag making agent in the presence of a small remaining amount of produced slag. CONSTITUTION:After molten iron is desilicated, produced slag is suctionally discharged from above by a slag cleaner. Then, a CaO treating agent, such as CaO-CaCl2 flux, is blown by injection without the molten iron replaced, thereby performing dephosphorization and desulfurization. Then, the great portion, or about 80% of the produced slag is suctionally discharged again by a slag cleaner. Further, the molten iron is sent to a decarbonizing furnace, where a small amount of a slag making agent, such as CaO, is added for a decarbonizing treatment.
