Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce an Al-based alloy plate of superior surface accuracy by specifying the kinds and addition amts. of the alloy elements to be added to Al, reducing the thickness of the casting, and cooling the same quickly then working the same by combining cold rolling and annealing properly.
CONSTITUTION: A molten Al-based alloy contg. 2W6% Mg and 0.04W0.35% Cr essentially as alloy elements, contg. 0.003W0.08% Ti and 0.0005W0.01% B selectively and controlled of Fe and Mn respectively to ≤0.2% is used and is cast continuously to 4W10mm plate thicknesses. After this cast plate is annealed for 1W48hr at 500W550°C, it is cold rolled at ≥30% reduction ratio or after said plate is cold rolled at ≥25% reduction ratio, it is annealed for 1W48hr at 400W 550°C and is further cold rolled at ≥30% reduction ratio, whereby the macrostructure is fined, microsegregations are reduced drastically, the local irregularity of the macrostructure is made inoffensive and the Al-based alloy plate of high surface accuracy is obtained.
