Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture molds at a low cost without using costly molding sand by coating a mold release agent on a pattern then electrostatically coating a powder refractory material thereon, packing mulled sand via a binder and gushing a hardening gas therethrough thereby molding a tightly bound mold. CONSTITUTION:A mold release agent 5 for cold boxes is coated on the surface of the electrically conductive film 3 of a pattern 4, and a powder refractory materia 12 is electrostatically charged to minus and is sprayed onto the material 5, whereby an electrostatic powder mold coating material is formed. The material 14 is coated on the material 12 by electrostatic attraction. After a flask 15 made of a prescribed resin is set on the side surfaces of the pattern 14, mulled sand 16 is packed therein to obtain penetration of the binder 14. A cover 19 having a prescribed number of air feed maniholds 18, 18-is closed and sealed tightly to the top end of the flask 15 via a seal 17, and a hardening gas is supplied through vent holes 18, 18-and is gushed through the sand 16, the binder 14, the material 12 and the material 5 until it is discharged through vent holes 2, 2, whereby a mold 27 having a mold coating material film 26 is molded.
