Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of an underwater electrical appliance by communicatng the top of a vessel to a space sealed with air above the oil surface in an electrical appliance through a communicating hole with the bottom thereof is communicated outside the electrical appliance through an opening. CONSTITUTION:An example is shown in the application for an oil-filled transformer. A tank 3 housing the contents 2 of a transformer 1 is filled with an insulating oil 4 and a conservator 5 is provided to compensate for changes in the capacity of the insulating oil due to variations in the temperature thereof. A diaphragm 6 is provided above the oil surface in the conservator 5 covering thereof. A vessel 8 is provided on the side of the tank 3 in such a manner that the top of the vessel is communicated to a space sealed with an air of the conservator 5 through a piping 10 by way of a communicating hole 9 while the bottom thereof 8 is communicated outside the transformer 1 through an opening 11. The pressure inside and outside of the transformer is always kept equal with the entry of water into the vessel 8 through the opening 11 while variations in the capacity of the insulating oil 4 is compensated for by changes in the water level 13.
