Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability by providing a plug adapted to float on water but sink in oil for a sealed space communicated to a space above the oil surface of an underwater oil-filled electrical appliance. CONSTITUTION:A tank 3 housing the contents 2 of a transformer 1 has a double side wall comprising an inner wall 3a and an outer wall 3b between which a closed space is formed. An insulating oil 5 fills inside the inner wall 3a of the tank 3 and a conservator 6 is provided to compensate for variations in the insulating oil 5. The conservator is fitted inside wall a diaphragm 7 adapted to move up or down with the oil surface covering thereof. The top of the conservator 6 is communicated to the top of the double side wall space 4 through a piping 9 while the bottom of the space 4 is communicated outside through an openging 10, which is fitted with a guide 12. A plug 13 for closing the openging 10 is inserted into the guide in such a manner as to be free to move up or down. The plug 13 floats on water and sinks in oil allowing the entry of water of prevent possible oil leakage.
