Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve startability of an engine by enabling a compressor to operate always under a condition of a small capacity when a solenoid clutch is connected with the engine. CONSTITUTION:When a starting switch 20 is turned on while an air conditioning switch 21 is kept turned off a relay contacting point 19a is opened, a solenoid valve 13 is in a disengaged condition and no load of a compressor 12 is applied. Moreover, while a condenser 250 is being charged up to a standard voltage when the switch 20 is in a turning on condition, an output of a comparator 251 is L and a transistor 252 is in a closed condition, then transistors 168- 170 and 164b are turned off and 166, 167 and 171 are turned on, and a capacity of the compressor is made smallest by making a servomotor 17 rotate in the reverse direction until the output becomes H. And when the switch 20 is closed while the switch 21 is in a closed condition a coil 19b is not electrified for fixed period by action of a time limit circuit 25, a solenoid clutch 13 is disconnected, in the meantime the capacity of the compressor becomes smallest in the same manner as above, and the clutch 13 is connected after the lapse of a fixed period.
