Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform optimum controlling of the operation of a compressor motor by changing a reference value as compared with the volume of load responding to power source frequency in an air conditioner with capacity variable with the detected volume of load. CONSTITUTION:A thermistor 20 detects the magnitude of load on a compressor by detecting the temperature of an indoor heat exchanger. The output of the thermistor is fed to one terminal of a comparator 30, and a load reference values of load reference value setting circuits 22, 25, respectively for 50hz and 60hz, are inputted to the other terminal of the comparator 30. An output is generated, for instance, when the output voltage of the thermistor 20 exceeds a selective voltage of a switch 40 and excites a relay 51 via an operation processor 50. This opens a magnetic valve 10L in a relay circuit that by-passes the compressor decreasing heating capacity and preventing over-load operation of the compressor.
