Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve saving of energy and utilization of IC's in a fan-speed controlling circuit for an air conditioner, by designing the circuit such that the fan speed is controlled by amplifying an output of a room-temperature sensor between a maximum and a minimum set voltages and comparing the same with a reference voltage and operation of the fan is stopped when the room temperature becomes lower than a set temperature but more than a prescribed degrees.
CONSTITUTION: A voltage corresponding to the room temperature detected by a thermistor 1, higher than a voltage of a minimum voltage setting circuit 12 but lower than a voltage of a maximum voltage setting circuit 8, is applied to an input point B of a comparison circuit 13. Therefore, if the room temperature becomes higher than a set temperature during cooling operation, voltage at the input terminal B of the comparison circuit 13 is raised, so that a fan 17 is operated at a high speed, under a maximum voltage, by means of a fan driving circuit 16. As the room temperature is lowered, however, the voltage at the input terminal B is also lowered and it is lowered to the minimum voltage when the room temperature is lowered to the set temperature. In this state, the fan 17 is operated at a low speed. Further, if the room temperature becomes lower than the set temperature by the prescribed degrees determined by a stop circuit 19, the fan 17 is stopped by the stop circuit 19. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to achieve saving of energy and utilization of IC's in the circuit.
