Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust the sound volume generated from a speaker, by varying a base current of a transistor (TR) for speaker drive with an externally mounted component. CONSTITUTION:Taking a value of a resistor 12 as R, a resistor of R/2 is connected between an output of a speaker driving predriver 14 and a base of a speaker driving TR18. A signal of music is given from a sound generating circuit 17 and the base current is decreased, by limiting the current flowing from the predriver 14 to the base of the TR18 with the resistance value R/2 of the resistor 12. When the base current of the TR18 is decreased, the collector current also reduces, and the sound volume outputted from a speaker element 13 is decreased. The base current to the TR18 can be increased or decreased by varying the resistor 12 to adjust the sound volume outputted from the speaker element 13.
